Beyoğlu is not simply a district of Istanbul; for most of the city’s modern history it has been its centre of gravity. Art, fashion, gastronomy and nightlife converge here, and the rhythm never fully stops — it only changes shape between day and night.
Hasköy sits on the Golden Horn, just far enough from that intensity to feel separate from it. Once known as “Has” in the Ottoman era — meaning distinguished — the district was famous for its citrus gardens before becoming a centre of Republican-era industry in the twentieth century. Today the waterfront is being rewritten again, and Ege Yapı Beyoğlu sits at the centre of that change.

Wool and Yarn Factory
The Hasköy Wool and Yarn Factory began production in 1952. It became a symbol of Türkiye’s independent industrial progress, producing coloured wool, hand-knitting yarns and knitwear yarns, and it wrote itself permanently into the industrial memory of the Golden Horn.
It was never only a place of production. It was the spatial memory of an era.
Ege Yapı Beyoğlu rises on that ground. Where threads were once woven, a new culture of living is being woven again.

The project
A new generation of living culture
Here, life was designed around an understanding shaped not by walls that divide, but by spacious courtyards that bring people together. A sheltered inner courtyard offers a living atmosphere where modern lines and the warmth of a neighbourhood meet in balance.
Landscape
Two thirds of the project area is dedicated to landscaping, placing nature at the centre of the design rather than at its edges.
Between blocks
Blocks are positioned at least 17.5 metres apart, arranged on a spiral concept that connects living spaces without overlooking them.
